Will Texas Medicaid pay for gastric bypass/weight loss surgery? I am on SSI and receive Medicaid. I am needing to have weight loss surgery and the only insurance I have is Medicaid. Does anyone know if there are doctors in the Dallas/fort worth or even east texas area that will accept Medicaid for the gastric bypass surgery? Or are there doctors who donate the services for free on occasion?

Is Sugar-Free Carnation Instant Breakfast a Good Weight-Loss Supplement? I just started drinking Sugar-Free Carnation Instant Breakfast with 1% Milk in hopes to drop some weight. My mother had Weight-Loss surgery to actually shrink the size of her stomach. The doctor told her to drink Carnation Instant Breakfast for every meal. She lost 30lbs in the first month. I am 5'8" and 173 lbs. I would like to lose some weight or atleast shed inches off of my stomach and waist. So I am drinking the Sugar-Free Carnation Instant Breakfast for every meal, just like my mother did. Has anyone else tried this or have an success stories? If not, is there any "meal-replacement" drink that has worked for anyone? I have started to exercise along with the breakfast meals, but I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this for me. Thank you!
Have you gone through weight-loss surgery? This is not an invite for people to critisize someone's choice, but only to share valuable information. I would like to hear from those of you who have used surgery to take off weight. Be it Gastric Bypass, stomach stapling, or the newer stomach banding. Was it worth it? Did you have many complications? Did your health insurance cover the costs? Because of the personal nature of this question, I understand if you would rather answer by email, so feel free to click on the link in my profile. Thanks!
Weight Loss Surgery? I am 24 years old, and I weigh 330 pounds. I honestly don't eat a lot, and I don't eat the wrong foods. In fact, I eat quite healthy. Lots of fresh fruit & veggies, salads, yogurt, sugar free stuff, but I can't lose the weight. I've tried every diet under the sun, and yet nothing happens. I've been contemplating the weight loss surgery, and I'm just wondering if anyone else out there has had it, would you recommend it? is it safe? how long is recovery? I have a 2 year old, and I want to be able to run & play with her. I want to be around to see my baby grow up- I'm at my wits end. Any advice will be appreciated.
Getting Gastric Bypass Weight Loss Surgery covered by Health Partners...? According to the Health Partners Web Site in order to have the surgery you got to jump through hoops. There are all these requirements like having documented history of a BMI over 40 for 2 years. How do you have that documented, just what you weigh at your yearly physicals and then calculating your BMI. I am just starting to consider this weight loss surgery because I have tried all sorts of diets to loose weight and nothing works. My doctor says that with my Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome it will be hard for me to loose weight and keep it off on my own. I have calculated by BMI and it is at 42.9 according to some web sites I am severely obese. My BMI is above the 40 required plus the hospital web site where I would be having the procedure says to consider going to the free class if you are 35 or higher. I want to change that but just a diet and exercise just don't work for me. Has anyone had trouble getting there Health Partners Insurance to cover surgery and why did you have troubles?

high protein shakes and weight loss? Start of I am overweight. I started Adipex prescribed by my doctor the end of April . I have lost 31 lbs so far. I work out at YMCA and recreationally swim (play with my kids) 3 to 4 times a week. My doctor suggested this meal replacement I haven’t even heard of myself but he has and he has been using it with other patients with great results so I trust him. Average weight loss 2-5 pounds a week on it. I will continue my Adipex for Appetite suppressant and I started the meal replacement today. The meal replacement is sold through him and he gave me free boxes 50 dollars worth. It will end up costing me about 100-150 month. Essentially the diet is high in protein and low in carbs and fat. This diet is calorie restricted. My question is Is protein what I want to lose the weight and if it is would adding a protein shake once a day aid in further weight loss? I am trying to avoid weight loss surgery. The way it is going I see great things.
Should the NHS treat the obese for free....? High demand for stomach surgery for obese patients as well as the cost of specialist equipment - such as larger examination couches - means the costs to primary care trusts (PCTs) have shot up. The new data comes after official figures revealed that weight-loss stomach surgery for obesity has risen 40 per cent in a year. The data, from the NHS information centre, showed there were 2,724 hospital admissions in 2007/08 for bariatric surgery, which includes stomach stapling and gastric bypass. Overall, hospital admissions for obesity also increased, reaching 5,018 in 2007/08, a 30 per cent rise on 2006/07 and almost a seven-fold increase on 1996/97. The statistics showed 48 per cent were now treating more patients for obesity than three years ago. Around one in six PCTs had increased their obesity budget seven-fold in the last three years and the same number had purchased primary care equipment specially designed for obese patients. Dr David Haslam, a GP in Hertfordshire and clinical director of the National Obesity Forum, said PCTs were turning down requests for surgery not because patients were failing to meet criteria laid down by the National Institute for health and Clinical Excellence (Nice), but to cut costs. He said: "PCTs are delighted to find any excuse to turn down bariatric surgery, despite the fact that it is among the most clinically effective, and cost effective procedures in any field of medicine." Tam Fry, chairman of the Child Growth Foundation and member of the National Obesity Forum, said: "Obesity is now so great that this level of PCT spending is necessary just to make inroads into the problem. "But this kind of spending cannot be sustained and could go on to cripple the NHS." http://uk.news.yahoo.com/4/20090409/tuk-nhs-sees-obesity-spending-soar-dba1618.html Should obese people be made to loose weight before having treatment? Should the NHS treat them the same as everyone else? Is it right that obese people should be given weight-loss stomach surgery for free before trying other methods of weight loss first? Your views please!

I wanted to loss weight faster. So I did my best to loss weight. and I lost weight and hair! But why hair?? I didn’t want a surgery or I didn’t want to have pills to loss weight. Still don’t want those. So, I decided to have balanced diet and exercises. I started to have vegetables, all kinds of fruits, fish for protein, 2 breads for a day, plenty of water, pickle & lemon juice without sugar. I didn’t have chance to go to gym or doing outdoor exercises, so I rather started working out at home like doing free hand exercises for like half an hour and using running machine for like 40 minutes a day. It was really working and I lost like 7 kgs within a month. But the problem is, I lost plenty of my Hair with Weight! I could realize that I am losing hair coz I completely stopped eating Rice. I used to eat rice @ launch time and ate bread @ dinner time. When I was dieting, I used to eat 2 breads for a day @ breakfast time. For the deficiency of carbohydrate I lost too much hair. Then when I though of start eating carbohydrate again (not too much, balanced) I realized that Avoiding Carbohydrate is the fastest way to loss weight and it was the main reason I was loosing weight and if I start eating the Rice and Bread and all the carbohydrate contaminated foods again, I’ll gain the weight again that I lost, or if I start doing exercise more (though I don’t get that much time), I’ll not loss weight as fast as I was loosing weight before. So, as you can see, the whole planning was working out, but I had to stop doing all those because of the falling of my hair. SO, can you please tell me a way to loss weight faster without loosing hair?? {I was happy by the way I was loosing my weight (except the hair falling part). If you suggest me something similar to my way of loosing weight, it would be pretty much helpful for me. Please don’t suggest me to go to gym/outdoor exercise or having pills/surgery}
Can you tell the diff b/ween s/one who has smoked a cigarette and s/one who has used a patch/gum via a test? I'm opting for a weight loss surgery that requires me to be smoke-free for at least six months. I can't quit food AND cigarettes all at once. It's REALLY not possible for me to do (without losing my mind 10 times a day). Three days before every check-up just to clear my system out IS doable though. How long do cigarettes stay in your system? Can they tell the difference between nicotine in your system from a cigarette than that left by a patch or gum? I know it's sneaky and deceptive and I'm SURE I'll get a couple of wise-asses that tell me I need to quit...but I just can't, ok?
Please proofread my paragraphs thanks? The weight loss support group had two main patterns of group interaction, the round robin and free floating. Particularly, the free floating was more used in the group than round robin. The group focuses more engaging in a group-centered communication pattern by sharing each other’s experiences and concerns. In my observation, I viewed how each member helped inform the concerns for the individuals who are considering having a weight loss surgery. The “Beary Buddies’ weight loss support group was not created for members who had the weight loss surgery, but also for obese people who are thinking of having a weight loss surgery. The number of members in the support group was fifteen members; twelve who had the surgery and three who are considering of having a surgery. In the support group, half of the members were white, elderly people and the other half were Latinos around middle age. Also, there were only two mid-twenties adults. I observed that the support group had equally male and females members. I had the opportunity to observe that most all of the members received the weight loss surgery with the help of government and health insurance. Medicare helped the elderly people with their surgery costs. In my observation, I viewed that confidentiality was not an important feature in the support group. Many of the members had their spouse or a family member with them as a support. Confidentiality was not discussed in the support group. However, evaluation was discussed in the support group. At the end of the session, the leader will verbally have an evaluation with the group. For example, the leader asked the group if they like the guest speakers and also they hadn’t any concerns and problems.

What is the quickest way to lose fat fast? Hello everybody, I am 47 years old, 5'10' and was severly injured on the job which led to being sedantary, I was 175 back before my multiple surgeries and I balloned to 232 LBS. because of my severe spinal injuries, the only exercise I can do without compromising my spine is, walk and swim. my mom made a special soup which is designed to make you lose and in 2 months I am now 200lbs, but I'm stuck no matter what I do being 200lbs. Anybody have any advice on how to drop another 20lbs fast? It's to go on vaction to impress somebody, so I realize when I get back I need to form a healthy balanced diet to remain at whatever lowest weight I loss, I do 4 miles X6/week on a threadmill along with my cabbage soup diet, however I cant get over the 200lbs obstacle regardless of being on this strict diet. Do those "hydrocut" pills work? or are they just a diuretic? Anybody feel free to tell me whatever you know works..thank you, regards boulonman1
I am really socially withdrawn? I am pretty quite person and keep to myself a lot. I spend lots of my free time alone and I am not social at all. I don't like this lifestyle but if Im around more than a few people I get nervous and start saying stupid stuff or make myself look dumb. I have been fat my whole life and I been teased about it to the point I just stay away from people. So that they don't have to endure my presensces, I guess you could say. I am looking for a thearpist now to try to work on this and I am hoping to be approved for weight loss surgery soon. This change though is not gong to change how I feel inside though my question is how do I get myself out there so I can make new friends and possibly even a new boyfriend. (Im pretty sure my current one is cheating on me so hes going soon.) I just been closed up for so long I am not even sure where to start?? Any ideas?
How much does it cost to have excess skin removed after weight loss surgery? I am extremely interested in having Lap-Band surgery, however, I do not have a lot of money and I dont want to go through with it if I can't follow it through to the end, which will result in me having to have my excess skin removed. Does anyone know the type of cost for something like this? And can it be done for cheaper/ free if the skin is donated for skin grafting on burn victims? Pleaseee help!
do you want to lose weight?click here,i tried this diet and lost atleast 20 lbs before i quit it? The Mayo Clinic Diet BREAKFAST: 1/2 grapefruit or 8oz unsweetened juice. 2 Eggs any style 2 Slices of bacon Black coffee or tea, no sugar LUNCH: 1/2 grapefruit or 8oz unsweetened juice. Salad and or raw veggies (any dressing, {not low fat or fat free}) Meat (Cooked any way) DINNER: 1/2 grapefruit or 8oz unsweetened juice. Meat (cooked any way) Vegetables (any green or red, may be cooked in butter or Seasoning or a salad as above) Black coffee or tea, no sugar BEDTIME: (opt) 8oz Tomato juice or skim milk INSTRUCTIONS: 1. At any meal you may eat until you are full, and you can not eat anymore. You must eat the minimum listed listed at each meal. 2. Do not eliminate anything from the diet, especially don't skip the bacon at breakfast or omit salads. It is the combination of foods that burn the fat. 3. The grapefruit is important because it acts as a catalyst that starts the burning process. 4. Cut down on coffee, it affects the insulin balance that hinders the burning process. Try to limit to one cup each meal. 5. Don't eat between meals, if you eat the combination of food suggested, you will not get hungry. 6. The diet may eliminate sugars and starches. Fat does not form fat, it helps burn it, so you can fry food in butter and use butter generously on vegetables. 7. Do not eat desserts, breads and white vegetables of sweet potatoes. You may double or triple helpings of meat, salads or vegetables. Eat till you are stuffed. The more you eat the more weight you will lose. 8. There may be no weight loss in the first 4 days, but you may lose 5 pounds on the 5th day. You may lose 1 and 1/2 pounds every two days until you reach your goal. 9. DRINK EIGHT 8oz GLASSES OF WATER EVERY DAY. 1/2 GALLON. THIS DIET IS SAID TO BEEN GIVEN TO HEART PATIENTS NEEDING TO LOSE WEIGHT FAST FOR BY-PASS SURGERY. Can your G.P prescribe free gym access in the U.K? In 2007 I broke my ankle in four places and had to have major surgery on it. Before this I used to exercise everyday to keep my weight down. It took me nearly a year to walk properly again and then I had a baby in 2008. I still have trouble with my ankle in that I cant stand/walk for long periods on it without suffering the consequences for about a week afterwards. I did attend physio for 3 months after my accident but that was only to get me walking again. I really need to lose my baby weight and tried some light exercise but my ankle is killing me and like I said before that was about a week ago. I was wondering if I went to my doctor, if he could send me to a gym, on a specific programme for weight loss but also tailor for my foot as well, as I cant afford to go to one ANY suggestions/comments would be helpful THANKS

Can a multivitamin/can of diet caffeine-free sprite/blood pressure medication affect a blood glucose test? I am currently studying abroad in Mexico. Over the past few days, I have had dry mouth, fatigue and occasional tingling sensations in my hands and feet. Until about 6 months ago I was morbidly obese but have lost about 140 pounds since undergoing LapBand surgery. I had my urine tested for sugar while I was at my highest weight and the test came back negative. Despite my weight loss, and the negative test result, I always worry about diabetes. Today I went to a (reliable) clinic and had my blood-glucose levels tested. I was not referred by a doctor, but I took it upon myself to fast. I had an orange last night at about 7:00 PM and then nothing except water, a can of diet sprite, a multivitamin and my blood pressure medication (Atenolol, 50mg) until my test around 11:30 AM. The result was a normal 78 mg/dL, so my fears have subsided for the time being. Just curious as to whether or not anything I consumed (or the fact that it was nearly 17 hours since I had eaten anything) could have impacted the results. Any answers are appreciated, though I would prefer a response from someone with a medical background. Thanks all.
Recent heart patient with no appetite, throwing up, and losing weight? My grandfather had open heart surgery for a valve replacement and for a bypass/stint put in just last fall around Thanksgiving. He was in surgery for around 8hrs and they lost him a few times on the table. The surgeons had a heck of a time getting his heart to actually start and function without the machine needing to be attached. Afterwards he had a lot of trouble with fluid in his lungs and legs and was put on lasix pills plus other meds for his heart. He has just recently had another surgery to have a pacemaker put in about 2 weeks ago because his heart is just too weak to function properly without help. Now, my question is does anyone know of anything that may help a heart patient such as him regain an appetite and put on some weight? He has lost a lot of weight since the surgery, has no appetite what-so-ever, and is continuing to lose even more weight. Not only that, but he has now started vomiting frequently whenever he does force himself to eat and is continually getting weaker. He also has a history of cancer (I cannot remember the type). There is no cure for this type of cancer, but it does go in remission. He has been in remission for several years now; cancer free. ~Anyway, sorry it's so long, but does anyone have any ideas/suggestions about the loss of appetite and/or vomiting? He does have a doctor's appt., but the earliest they could get him in was in about a week from now...I'm just looking for any possible ideas/suggestions until then...Thank you to everyone who answers. Debi, Silver- thank you for the ideas/suggestions. Will suggest/ask about your ideas...and yes, we've also thought of the unhappy possibility that it could be a side affect of the meds or, even worse, his cancer returned...hoping it isn't the latter....Anyway, your thoughts/ideas are definitely appreciated! Oh, and he's in his late 60's/early 70's...farmer up until about a year ago. Was in good physical shape other than for the whole cancer and heart issues thing...and never smoked a day in his life.

Celiac and Pregnancy, Crazy? Ok where do I start. For about 2 weeks I was experiencing some brown blood which I assumed to be my period? I finally came online and saw sometimes is could mean pregnancy but it means it's a tubal pregnancy or miscarriage. Thing is I had my period, just brown and occasionally only spots of red for almost three weeks! I let that go. I've been having sharp pains in my left and right sides and my stomach is hard as a rock and the area below the "gut" and above the vagina is hard(I've heard this is linked to pregnancy?) I've also had extreme bloating feelings and gas along with diarrhea. And as well as weird cravings and bursts of hunger, but when I eat about 15 min later prob not even I'm having sharp pains. These are all symptoms of pregnancy I'm sure we'll all agree. I've also researched some blogs with people who had the extreme bloating and sharp pains and 98% of them were pregnant. But, get this. My aunt was diagnosed with Celiac disease(gluten free diet, will eat away your small intestine)and it's hereditary but she doesn't even know who she could have got it from. Well let me just copy and paste symptoms I've found linked with it, I'll mark it with * If I have it. What are the symptoms of celiac disease? Symptoms of celiac disease vary from person to person. Symptoms may occur in the digestive system or in other parts of the body. Digestive symptoms are more common in infants and young children and may include abdominal bloating and pain * chronic diarrhea * vomiting *only just today but sick feelings I've ignored too constipation *NO* pale, foul-smelling, or fatty stool *NO* weight loss *NO, weight gain thats why i'm leaning toward pregnancy Adults are less likely to have digestive symptoms and may instead have one or more of the following: unexplained iron-deficiency anemia *NO* fatigue*NO* bone or joint pain * arthritis*NO* bone loss or osteoporosis depression or anxiety *OH YES* tingling numbness in the hands and feet *NO* seizures*NO* missed menstrual periods *Not sure yet, last one was brown infertility or recurrent miscarriage *Hope not canker sores inside the mouth *NO!* an itchy skin rash called dermatitis herpetiformis * NO* People with celiac disease may have no symptoms but can still develop complications of the disease over time. Long-term complications include malnutrition—which can lead to anemia, osteoporosis, and miscarriage, among other problems—liver diseases, and cancers of the intestine. Also, Celiac disease is both a disease of malabsorption—meaning nutrients are not absorbed properly—and an abnormal immune reaction to gluten. Celiac disease is also known as celiac sprue, non-tropical sprue, and gluten-sensitive enteropathy. Celiac disease is genetic, meaning it runs in families*MY AUNT* Sometimes the disease is triggered—or becomes active for the first time—after surgery, pregnancy*wow it can become apparent during pregnancy*, childbirth, viral infection, or severe emotional stress*I've been crying excessively and have been real sensitive* Forgot to also say something important. My period finally completely stopped yesterday but now, I'm having excessive urinating and just this morning i got morning sickness. OK so my point of showing you all this was I'm thinking, would I be pregnant AND starting to react to Celiac?? PLease someone research this. I would go to the doctor but I just got insurance a few days ago and it's not active til Jan 14. I just wanna research this so I can go into the doctor's telling them exactly what is wrong. Question is though, should I go to the Gynecologist or my regular Physician???
What do you think of my story?? Lucky Man As far as I can remember it all began when I started secondary school back in in 1999. I was a carefree 13 yr old but suddenly one day I began vomiting for no reason. This started the ball rolling for other symptoms such as massive headaches, extreme weight loss, forgetfulness, blurred vision and severe depression to name but a few. Over the following year my health and vision really deteriorated. They thought a strain on my eyes was causing the headaches and I was prescribed glasses. I weighed 6 stone, my head felt like it would explode etc and yet doctors could find nothing medically wrong with me. They thought it was psychological. In July 2001, I collapsed in my aunts in Ennis. The local GP diagnosed me as having depression but this was just a symptom of the illness. It was a very surreal time as I only remember a few minutes of the next couple of weeks. Family were afraid to leave me alone because of the depression. On the 18th August 2001 I collapsed again at home. It was only my mother and me at home and she was very scared and called my grandparents and Dad. One image that will stay with me forever is of my Granddad Peadar sitting beside me on a chair in my room crying his eyes out wailing “ why won’t you tell us what’s wrong with you ?” The worrying thing was that none of us knew….. My family couldn’t take any more and immediately drove me to Crumlin Hospital with a referral letter from my GP. The last thing I remember leaving my house was my nana Patsy helping me into the car (this will be important later). They did lots of tests and scans and rushed me to Beaumont Hospital at midnight by ambulance. After more tests and scans I was diagnosed as having a brain tumour in the pineal gland (over my right eye) I remember being told “brain tumour” but not knowing what it was. I especially didn’t know how serious it was or that it was cancer. I thought I would be back in school by at the latest late September. The Hospital quickly set about removing some of the brain fluid which was causing the headaches as it was being blocked by the tumour. I later found out off my Dad that I would have died over the next day or 2 had they not removed the excess. I had a 10 hr operation to remove the tumour. There were complications during surgery. I had a bleed on the right side of my brain which left the entire left side of my body weakened and left me in a coma for 14 weeks. After the coma I was in a vegetated state and was sent back to Crumlin for chemotherapy. I caught a bug which meant I had to return to Beaumont half way through the treatment. I had a total of 18 operations on my head, spent 9 months in a hospital bed as a vegetable (a parsnip as Jamie says, but was probably closer to a cabbage) I remember nothing of my time in Beaumont Hospital and only know this information from asking. I had my 16th birthday party in Beaumont Hospital. In may 2002 I was discharged from Beaumont and admitted to Dun Laoighre N.R.H As I couldn’t walk, talk or move etc. At this point although I was cancer free I was extremely soft in the head and was still being fed through a naso gastric tube in my nose. The feed always made me sick which brought the tube back up and it wasn’t very nice getting it replaced. I spent a long hard 10 months there in rehabilitation. I eventually went home for weekend visits every Friday afternoon and came back Sunday evenings. The ironic thing is my nan was the first person to help me out of the car As my physical injuries improved I was upgraded from a wheelchair to a walking frame. I remember taking my first unaided steps at home with the same aunt, Trisha in November 2002 (I took 8) I was discharged in march 2003 just before my 17th. I walked out those doors unaided that time. I was forced to leave school the summer before my Junior cert and my class had moved on in the system but I was slowly integrated back into it. I started it in September 2003 in third yr and did my junior at 18 in a class of 15 yr olds. I have to say that the entire school were very helpful and understanding with me. I stayed on at school after it. In the meantime I joined Canteen Ireland after spotting it while doing a random “cancer” search on the internet. But I didn’t go to any meetings because I was on a lot of medication at the time and wanted to forget my past. But when I went to my first meeting in “Carlingford” in 2005 I realised that this wasn’t just a club for “sick” people but a family. A family I was being welcomed into with open arms. It was 1 of the best things I ever did. I love all the meetings and weekends away and we are all a really close nit group/family (even if there is the odd joke about my horrible horrible accent and my Pidgin English nothing is meant by it. I stayed at school for the leaving cert in which I got one of the highest marks in the year. I graduated in May 2006 and won the “Student of the Year Award”. This brought my story to the attention of the Local Media and some National Newspapers. I postponed my Mechanical Engineering place in DKIT and did Engineering PLC. In the meantime I was nominated and subsequently won the “Co. Louth Person of the Year 2006”. I started college in 2007. Initially I enjoyed it and was top of my class but the stress of the 12 hour days of Honours Physics, Chemistry and Maths and other personal problems meant that my grades began to slip. I decided to leave in December 2007. At present I am doing Employer Based Training for Clerical work, it suits my skills and means I can work my way up. Life has never been better. I am off all medication have a clean bill of health, have a wonderful loving family and close circle of friends (who help me so much). I am at my optimum and going to America on a trip of a lifetime in August. I look upon my cancer experience as a positive one, although it caused family and friends great pain, personally I think it was good for me. Life not about the destination it’s the journey. I’m a lucky man and I see that now, although it has taken me 7 years and almost two years in hospital to realise and come to terms with this. It has made me appreciate and respect family, friends and the little things in life more. If we didn’t have the hard times we wouldn’t appreciate the good times as much. Surviving cancer is great once you have the right attitude. I don’t know hat life has in store for me but it will be fun finding out. I have really grown up and matured as a result. I’d like to say thank you to everyone who gave their help and support to both me and my family over the years. Life’s for a good time not a long time………..so enjoy it! What would happen if I ate nothing but fruits? For a month, or two, How long would I be able to survive off of that? I'm pretty sure my body would survive off of it but my main field is Science, physics and chemistry not biology =p Anyone ever attempt this? I'm curious, I love fruits but have never done it, I've always been a junk food type. My entire life I've been overweight, its not a disease its just a problem and I accept that, I dont eat ALOT once a day usually but I still cant manage to lose weight. I was thinking maybe cleaning out my system and rebooting it would fix things up, I really hate falling for all of this professional help stuff and all these LOSE WEIGHT PILLS I just want to try something I think I'll enjoy and will make me feel a lot better rather than swallowing pills or getting surgery. Even if its a small percentage of mass loss it'll get me on the right track. I'm pretty fit for a guy like me, I can do high kicks normally and actually give pretty lethal kicks. I also practice judo on my free time (Or atleast try to learn it, along with Physics and other things) I've been looking for a job since I turned 18 last month. I've had severe deppression for a while kept me locked up inside my home, even dropped out of school. I really think its time for change, I think addressing my weight issue would be a great place to start. Any and ALL help will be appreciated, I cant thank any of you enough. Whoever answers my question gets a sugar-free cookie. What other foods would need to be added on top of fruits to make it a more live-able diet source. Oatmeal? Some meats? Also adding, no junk food, fast foods, or drinks aside from Water.
HELP! Pituitary Tumor/Thyroid problem? I have a 9 mm pituitary adenoma causing a thyroid problem. (I have just been diagnosed with cushings also. I should have surgery in the next month. ) I know my TSH level is not relevant when testing so my doc ran a Free T3 and T4. My insurance company quit covering my cytomel (t3) replacement. I am now on a generic. Since starting I have been having a lot of problems staying awake during the day, but insomnia at night. I feel horrible. Muscle twitches, memory loss, can't remember family members names, my children's names, etc. I feel very Hypo. My levels are: TSH - 0.32 range 0.4-5.0 irrelevant T3 - 4.2 range ?-4.2 same for over a year, but felt better than now t4 - 0.73 range 0.58-1.64 I am on t4 replacement at 50 mcg and t3 at .5 mcg x2. My doc wants to lower my t4 replacement to 44 mcg. Shouldn't he be cutting my t3 to 1.5 pills per day for a total of 0.75 per day and up my t4 by a small increment, 64 or something, I can't remember the next dose. Or maybe even leave my t3 alone since it doesn't seem to move. But if my t4 is on the low side and my t3 is on the high side, why lower my t4? I know t4 converts to t3 so I think my first suggestion is best. My doc thinks I'm hyperthyroid now. I say no way with the symptoms and 8 pound weight gain. Can anyone offer insight please. I have felt like crap for so long I really can't take the chance of feeling worse.
